One thing I've seen in the 12+ years experience teaching English, is that all teachers are not the same. There are good ones and there are bad ones, like in any job. One of the most important things I bring to the table is the fact that I have learned a language from zero to proficient, as an adult. Many of colleagues can't say the same unfortunately, and even those who are bilingual from having spoken two langauges since they were children, really can't relate to the experience of learning it as an adult.
